Central Government bans import of sub-standard Chinese Goods

In a welcome move, the Government of India has banned the import of milk and milk products, certain mobile phones and a few other items from China. This action is taken by the government after finding that the products exported by China were of sub-standard and were not following security codes. In a disclosure in Lok Sabha Commerce Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that India banned the import of milk and milk products from China as their quality was unacceptable. She also said some mobile phones were banned because they which do not carry International Mobile Station Equipment Identity number or other security features. Some steel products are also on the list of banned items. “Complete ban of import from any country is not possible now due to WTO rules even if we have problems diplomatically, territorially or militarily,” she said.

This is just another instant which shows that everything is not smooth between India and China after the latter blocked India’s bid at the UN to ban terror outfit Jaish-e Mohammad’s chief and the mastermind of the Pathankot terror attack Masood Azhar, saying that it acts on such issues based on facts and rules in an “objective and just manner”.
