Things off late don’t seem to be going smooth for Arvind Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party. On the backdrop of dangling future of the 21 AAP, MLA’s the party is in a crisis situation. To add salt to this wound the claims of AAP MLA Alka Lamba about the Transport Minister Gopal Rai has created a stir in the media. Alka was sacked from her post of Party spokesperson on Tuesday night following her claims. She had reportedly told the press that the minister was “relieved” of the portfolio to make way for a fair probe into the Premium Bus Service scheme.
The party, however, maintained distance from her claims and said that the transport department had a heavier workload and the minister needed at least three months to recuperate from his surgery and undergo physiotherapy. Rai underwent a surgery recently to remove a bullet lodged in his neck. He however still holds five other portfolios.
The Premium Bus Service scheme, announced by the minister last month, had come under the scanner of the ACB after a formal complaint by BJP MLA Vijender Gupta. On Friday, Kejriwal had asked Rai to appear before the ACB with all relevant documents at the earliest instead of waiting for any action to be initiated.
Kejriwal who came to power in the peak of the revolutionary, “Common man to CM “ has had a tough time to maintain that image. It is high time for him to get into introspection and decide on his future plans.
