Death is the biggest fear man has ever had. Death is the only final truth that everyone has to embrace and see. But death can be profitable. Especially when you are planning to build an empire of lies and red terrorism over the dead body of the slain comrade of your wing. This probably is the case with the left wing brigade that surrounds the Anna Politkovskaya award winner for 2017 Late. Gauri Lankesh.
First things first. What is Anna Politkovskaya award? The award is presented annually by Reach All Women in War (the RAW in WAR organisation) and honours women human rights defenders from around the world. The award recognizes “a woman human rights defender from a conflict zone in the world who, like Anna, stands up for the victims of this conflict, often at great personal risk. This award is given in the remembrance of Anna Politkovskaya a Russian Journalist who was critically acclaimed for her investigative journalism on Second Chechen war in Russia. She was murdered in 2006. The award is given to Women writers with similar contributions.
Now the most important question. Yes, we are all sad about the sad demise of Gauri. But was she a great journalist who stood up as a human rights defender? What “Victims of war or conflict did she represent?” The answer is none! Throughout her life as a journalist, one thing that Gauri religiously did was to mock people she didn’t like, do personal allegations and create uncanny headlines on the newspaper that her father had set up and made popular. Throughout the life of Gauri Lankesh, you just see hatred and personal vendetta getting better of the journalist (If there was a journalist inside her!) that she was. The headlines on the newspaper “Lankesh Patrike” are just examples of the levels of hatred and a true display of yellow journalism she followed. These are the kind of newspapers which are often called “Crime News Papers” the one kind of papers even your parents don’t want you to read. Saucy headlines and cheesy images were the only selling points of this newspaper which hardly had the circulation of 10- 15 thousand. Probably the only achievement that Gauri Lankesh can be entitled of is getting the circulation of the paper which was 4-5 lakhs at its peak in 2000 to 10 thousand in 2017 before she died.
There is one other aspect which we need to look at here. Gauri Lankesh was not considered the “Best Journalist” even amongst her peers. Many complained about Gauri being ‘Egoistic and pointless’ after a particular level in any discussion. The only thing that probably bonded them all together is the fact that they all shared a common hatred for BJP and Narendra Modi. Ever since 2014, the left wingers have staged numerous nuances to berate India on the International front. They have went onto hug those who have cried “Bharat tere Tukde Honge” ( India you will be split into pieces) and People who have shouted “Kashmir ki Azadi hamara Maqsad hai” (Free Kashmir is our motto). Gauri even went onto call people involved in such protests as her Kids. The left-wingers who march in thousands when a terrorist is killed, sign petitions demanding the Government to not hang terrorists proven guilty and speak about “ Terrorism has no religion” become all active and amused to point fingers at “Right wing and saffron terrorism every time a guy of their own is murdered or killed”.
This was the case with Gauri’s murder as well. Even today the murderers are running out free in thin air. The motive of the murder is unknown. The path of investigation is stalled. But just moments later she was killed, the left wingers were out with placards blaming ‘Right wing, and Narendra Modi’ for her murder. The brigade involves big names like the Teestas, the Patkars the Yechuris and the Karnads. All these people who just come in, take a jibe at Hindu practices, the Central NDA government and Narendra Modi and then go back to their cocoons. This is yet another prodigy of this group to make Gauri the ‘Martyr’ and the ‘Mahatma’ she didn’t deserve to become.
Finally to the slain soul of Anna Politkovskaya, sorry dear Anna, we have betrayed you again. Once by murdering you for standing for what you believed was right, and now again for awarding the prestigious accolade for a person who didn’t know “What she believed”. Just goes onto show even the committee that runs an award in your name can be bought by the strong and long hands of the communist left wingers. Just so that you know, and just so that you feel better, the common man in India is way more intellectual than the ones who forced this award on Gauri. They see it all. They decide on what is a medallion of honour and what is a piece of golden coin dug out of the grave of animosity and selective journalism.
