T.V. debates being what they are, have limitations of time & hence I chose to write this piece.

This is a Rashtra (a term that is nation is not a substitute for) & a civilisation that has thrived on this planet for over 12000 years according to the most conservative recorded estimates although the Kaliyuga itself according to scriptures is believed to be stretching up to 40000 years. Sanatana Hindu Dharma has flown as a way of life which encompasses the Vedas, Puranas, ritualistic practices, agriculture, engineering,temple architecture, urban planning, mining, astrology, astronomy, Ayurveda & surgical sciences, mathematics, Yoga, varied forms of classical & folk arts, a rich abundance of languages, the greatest of literature & literary debates, not to mention the Ramayana & Mahabharata, including the hundreds of enlightened men & women who propagated and enriched tradition from time to time.

At every stage we have been attacked by conquerors, be it the ancient Greeks or Ghaznis & Muhammad Ghoris, then the Moghul Sultanate & then the Christian Portuguese, French, Dutch & the British. We have for centuries sustained terror & terror in the name of religion, destruction of temples, attacks on innocent men, women & children, humongous loot of our wealth, enmass conversions at Sword point, through intimidation, coercion by both the Islamic conquerors & the Christian invaders. We neither retaliated nor grouped ourselves to set out to TERRORIZE the world in the name of Hinduism. We resisted & resisted strongly but eventually allowed them to assimilate, to become part of our own.

Buddhism, Jainism & Sikhism originated on our soil & thrived, spread their wings. Preachers like Shankaracharya, Madhvacharya, Ramanucharya, Álvars, Nayanmars, Basavanna, Akkamahadevi, Guru Nanak emerged from this very land from time to time to help us rejuvenate, settle the imbalances within!

Bali whose name finds a reference in the Dashavatara has a nation to his name in present day Indonesia. Rama of Ayodhya travelled all the way to today’s Srilanka via Dhanushkodi, near Rameswaram. Gandhari, came from as far as Gandhar(Kandahar in today’s Afghanistan) to become the queen of Hastinapura. Chandragupta Maurya breathed his last in Shravanabelagola in Karnataka. Ashoka spread Jainnism to the farthest corners of South-east Asia. Adi Shankaracharya walked from Kalady to Kedar, completing his parivirajaka, four times across the nation by foot. Rani Padmini jumped into the burning pyre when Khilji’s men attacked her fortress. Swami Vivekananda travelled across seven seas to America & roared,”Brothers & Sisters of America”…We finally got our political freedom through Ahimsa & Satyagraha under the stewardship of one of Hindutva’s greatest believers, Mahatma Gandhi!
None of these great men & women built Terror camps to Terrorise the world. Never once have we stepped out of our soil to attack others or to conquer.

Can someone point to me where the “Terror” was in the name of religion, Sanatana Hindu Dharma-in the last 12,000years of recorded history?
Perhaps the Kamal Hassans of the world are taken in by the “Western Perspective” of this nation, preachings & writings of his Shortsighted Communist friends who propound a Bunkum theory called the, “Aryan Invasion theory” which can be busted by a basic understanding of the Sanatana Hindu Dharma. Arya was a nobleman, no less no more.
Communism which originated, dwelt, thrived & continues to thrive in whatever minuscule part of the world on the foundation of violence. From J.Stalin to P.Vijayan, from Fidel Castro to Mao ZeDong. If any it’s they who still, in a world governed by the UN continue to attack & occupy! China still occupies Tibet, Mr. Hassan & makes untiring attempts at invading our Arunachal & most recently Dokhlam. Why do you think Mr.Hassan that your favourite ideology has lost its place in its very land of origin, Karl Marx’s Russia? The Berlin Wall is down Sir! Have you heard of Glasnost & Perestroika

Now about, “Terror”! The Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Amendment Act, 2012, governs acts of terror in India. Terror is that which causes a threat to the Sovereignty & Integrity of this Nation. The acts of fringe Hindu Organisations which take you to Court for stating untruths about Ramayana or Mahabharata don’t qualify as “Terror” but yes, Naxal & Maoist activities that cause threat to the nation’s Sovereignty are acts of Terror. Isn’t Mr.Hassan’s political idol, Pinrayi Vijayan from the CPI(M) which tacitly supports such activities. The Muslim organisations which raised objections to your Vishwaroopam release, Mr.Hassan are not terrorists but yes, the Popular Front of India, which enjoys Mr.Pinrayi Vinayan’s patronage in running conversion factories & recruiting young Keralites & Kannadigas for ISIS will soon qualify as a Terror camp once the NIA closes in on them. The Laskar-e-Toiba, Jamat E Islami, Al-Queda, Taliban, the more recent ISIS are all “Terror” organisations that preach & propagate what is called Jihad, Killing in the name of religion, for the purpose of establishing an Islamic State.
If it’s Periyar’s ideology that Mr.KamalHassan seeks to promulgate, he has every right to but he must not forget that his very decision to enter active politics has stemmed from the failure of the Dravida Kazhagam politics & frustration thereof.
Mr.Hassan or his latest recruit Prakash Raj perhaps choose to romanticize the word Terror by including Gauraksha or moral policing into it. But no Sir, The Indian Penal Code & CrPc and other specific legislations take care of crimes/violation of law like that and even greater ones like rape, murder etc., & they are not acts against the Nation’s Sovereignty but Jihadi Terror is…Gauri’s killing Mr.Prakash Raj is an act of murder, not Terror.
Terror is & was propagated by the likes of Osama Bin Laden, Maulana Masood Azhar, Hafeez Sayeed, Zakir Naik…The scale & magnitude of the TERROR/destruction they are aiming at for the purpose of Jihad is not by any length romantic, Mr.Hassan. Hence, I urge you & Prakash to not use the term, ‘Terror’ loosely at a time, when the entire world & mankind, be it in India, Europe or the US feels threatened by Jihad & the likes of the ISIS and stands united on fighting it. Am sure you have heard about the 9/11, 26/11, London bombing, Paris attack, Brussels & scores of others across the world. If I may recall, Mr.Hassan was refused an entry into the US owing to his name that sounds Muslim soon after 9/11. If after all this, Mr.Hassan or Prakash still believe there is Hindu Terror, they should immediately hand over the relevant evidence to the NIA forthwith and render their duty as concerned citizens of the nation. Prakash should ask Mr.Siddaramaiah, why Gauri’s killers are still at large & if he has any clue or even a shred of evidence, immediately hand to the SIT.

As for us, we don’t believe in External conquests. Sanatana Hindu Dharma believes in a conquest that is internal & internalised, to soul-search and transcend this human form. Jeevan Mukti…that we believe is the purpose of human existence.
