Last week Shriram Sene’s founder Mr Pramod Muthalik and 24 activists of Shriram Sene, who faced charges against them in connection with the attack on a pub in Mangaluru, were acquitted by the Court in the absence of evidence. Some activists had escorted the girls out of the pub, to prevent their lives from getting tainted by entangling in the foreign culture of the pub. However, the media implicated devout Hindu activists in false cases by disseminating misleading news about the incident and derided them as anti-social elements.
Culture-protectors ridiculed
In this case, the media took care to ensure the perverse culture of foreign countries gets popular by glorifying the ‘freedom of individual’ and ‘freedom of expression’, and at the same time, created feelings of inferiority complex about the Indian culture. That is why the doubts are created whether this media, which has an important role in creating social justice, have become slaves of foreign agents. This doubt remains intact even after the acquittal of activists because despite being proved innocent, the culture-protectors continue to be ridiculed by the media.
The objective underlying the deed is important!
In this case, the girls in the pub were escorted out not out of personal arrogance or hatred, but because their character should not be tarnished by their getting entangled in immoral activities while swaying in the pub. The mothers of some of the girls also expressed their gratitude to Shriram Sene in this case. Which parents would like to witness their daughters going to pubs, drinking alcoholic beverages in the company of boys and dancing to western music? The method adopted by the activists in opposing foreign perversion can be a matter of debate, but nobody can find fault in their objective. This lesson should be learnt by those who ridicule culture-protectors as Talibani. All these cases should have been viewed from a perspective of parents. If a child does not study, the parent not only reason with him, but sometimes, a ward also gets punished. In such a situation, nobody cries foul that the ward’s ‘freedom of expression’ is being infringed. In such situation, why are the actions of the culture-protectors, which may appear somewhat aggressive, termed as fanatical like Talibani and with who prompts such rumour mongers? For the protection of Dharma, culture, Nation and society, the use of – willingness or by acceptance (Saam), or by bribery or corruption (Daam), or by punishment (Dand) or by dividing (Bhed) – is being practised in India since ancient times. The only difference is the absence of the shallow media during those days, and thus, there was no frantic shouting over the acts performed in the interests of society.
Who is the true culprit?
After the acquittal of the charges, Mr Pramod Muthalik responded by saying that ‘The Truth has prevailed’. He criticised the then BJP Government for implicating him in the case in spite of his absence at the spot of the incident on that day. He also said that there were drug mafia and sex mafia behind the incident. There should be a thorough inquiry into this allegation. If the perversion of the pub is thriving because sex-rackets and drug trade are to prosper at the cost of the character of young girls and the opposition to Pub culture is itself opposed, it is not difficult to identify the true culprit.
Moral policing is essential
Although few people such as promoters of ‘women’s liberation’, ‘equality of sexes’ cry their hoarse over moral policing, there should be some code of conduct to protect the culture. If the people are ready to observe the traffic signals to facilitate traffic, what is the problem of abiding by some social and moral restrictions to maintain the moral health of the society? By failing to understand the distinction between freedom and wantonness, the society has strayed from righteousness. Today, the followers of Indian culture are increasing all over the world; whereas, in India, public displays of obscenity in the name of progressiveness, and implementing a movement like ‘Kiss of Love’ openly on the roads are witnessed. This is like spending diamonds to buy coal.
Questions raised after court verdict!
In this case, even though devout Hindu activists have been judged innocent by the Court, many questions still remain unanswered. Who is responsible for the defamation faced by the activists and organisation for last 9 years? Who will compensate for the physical and mental distress the activists have undergone? Will the Goa Government lift the ban on entry of Mr Muthalik after this verdict? In this background, Mr Muthalik’s intention to file a suit against the then BJP Government in the State and former Congress Government in the Centre for defamation of Mr Muthalik and Shriram Sene assumes importance. As a result of this, those needlessly persecuting innocent Hindus and poisoning their lives by resorting to irresponsible reporting will be kept in check.
