High on Drugs.

I woke up in the garbage bin this time.

In a drowsy state, trying hard to get out of it.

Wasn’t I already dry mouthed, panic-stricken I searched through my pockets

All I wanted was one dose to go back to my euphoric world

Craving for the white powder, I was high on the Drugs

Heavy breathlessness, fear of not getting it, clouded was my thinking,

with shaky hands I took it out and sniffed it until I wandered off into another universe of mine.

Frightening Flashbacks, all I wanted was a way out, Running from the reality

I was living in the Hell disguised as Heaven.

Banging my head to the wall, till the pain wore off.

Death is all I begged for, atrocious images, sabotaged thoughts just for that one little dose that let me have a pause.

My cotton clothes have turned into shiny stiff leather, with months of dust and dirt which I never even bothered to wash.

Hallucinated, by its every sniff I was unable to sleep.

Paranoid state, my sexual urges were beyond any bonds.

All I wanted was my little dose and then I was all by my own

Blue heaven, Yellow sunlight ..I stopped seeing myself in the mirror,

because I no longer saw myself in it. There was a devil trying to harm me, but I never came in his reach.

My family is no longer my concern because I am so high on my Drugs.

As all I need is that one little dose and again I will be by my own.

Drugs contain chemicals that tap into the brains communication system and disrupt the way nerve cells normally send, receive and process information. Cocaine,  Heroin, LSD, Methamphetamine, Ketamine, DMT  such drugs are smoked in joints or orally ingested and other ways like snorting/ sniffing and injecting Intravenously or Intramuscularly. These drugs release a large amount of natural neurotransmitters (mainly dopamine) .The result is a brain awash in dopamine, a neurotransmitter present in the brain region that controls movement , emotions, motivation, feeling and pleasure. The over stimulation of this reward system, which normally responds to natural behaviors linked to survival (eating, spending time with loved ones, sleeping etc) produces intense feeling of pleasure , with initial sensation as euphoria followed by other things in response to psychoactive drugs.

It’s a myth when people say, that drugs addiction can be stopped through willpower, or it is continued by voluntary choice. Yes maybe the initial few intake of drugs are voluntary but as the person continues to abuse drugs, the brain adopts to the overwhelming surges in dopamine by producing less of it. Lessening of dopamine’s impact reduces the abusers ability to enjoy not only drugs but also other events in life that previously brought happiness or pleasure.

This decrease compels the addicted person to keep abusing drugs in an attempt to bring back dopamine function back to normal, but now the larger amount of drug is required to achieve the same amount of dopamine effect.

Drug intake is commonly seen among youngsters, due to social life, peer pressure, show off, stress, curiosity that lures the mind to have that one oral ingestion. Unprecedented feelings, different diseases, having low spirit from loss of hope, grime living just to escape the stress and pain, where people are walking towards their own grave.

We all have our own choices , so has their consequences. So before making a choice better know the consequences.
