How to eat healthily?

Nowadays people are bothered about diet. They want to eat right food to maintain their health. They look for the articles or columns which tell about the diets in various concepts of health and about diet to be followed in certain diseases. Some even consult an ayurvedic physician or a dietician to get a better solution regarding their health. Now I am going to tell you how to take your food which you take daily; that means how to eat!!! Once you know how to eat you need not bother about getting ill or diet which you follow after getting ill. Ayurveda has mentioned about simple rules which you have to follow while taking food.

The food has to be taken in less quantity according to once digestive capacity, to know this few signs of well-digested food is given in science like easy elimination of stools, happiness of mind, lightness of the body and does not hamper the digestive fire. So it is important to take food in right quantity when it is in hot condition. The food which we take can be divided into three parts; One part is for various types of solid foods, another part is for liquid food and third is left for mean air that means to kindle the fire. so half of stomach capacity food should be taken. Water taken in with food helps for digestion of it.

In India, we give importance to six taste in our food. They are sweet, sour, salty, astringent, bitter and pungent. As per Ayurveda, the combination of these taste boosts once immunity and keeps the body healthy. Excess intake of single taste is not good. During lunch time, if it is Indian meal one can see various types of curries, sweet items along rice or with chapati. In that case, sweet food has to be taken at the beginning of the meal, in the middle sour and salty foods has to be taken. The rest of the taste at the end.It is because the sweet taste taken in the end delays digestion. It is better to take less food if a person is suffering from indigestion or if he is suffering from a disease.

Taking food sitting in floor with legs folded helps one eat in right quantity. Morning one has to eat more than afternoon and night less food has to be taken. Eating in between, before the previous food gets digested will lead to several health problems. Those who take very less quantity of food generally suffer from less immunity and less energy, which is also not good. Those who take excess of food even after the satisfaction leads to several problems such as body ache, distention of abdomen, dryness of mouth, fever, loose stools, burning sensation of the body, vomiting, constipation, laziness, heaviness etc. So eat properly and stay healthy.
