Digital India – from a citizen’s perspective!

What is it? Digital India, a 1.13 lakh-crore project, initiated by our Prime Minister Shri. Narendra Modi on 1st July 2015 is a welcome initiative by the PM after Clean India and Make in India initiatives.

Why is it? From the words of Mr. PM himself, “I dream of a digital India where high-speed digital highways unite the nation; 1.2 billion connected Indians drive innovation; technology ensures the citizen-government interface is incorruptible,” and to fulfill his many other dreams for making India a digitally better place.

Digital India – is a huge step forward, with 1.13 crore investment. But ultimately, all we need to know is, what we get as an Indian citizen? or simply put, what’s in it for me?

Many new projects have been introduced as a part of Digital India Programme. Each project has been crafted to improve different aspects of our country’s processes. From Agriculture to Internet of Things, everything plays a crucial role in our day-to-day lives, directly or indirectly.

Thoughts: Everything about Digital India project looks very promising with high hopes and focus on the youth of India. But, as long as it keeps up the promise and stay off corruption, and focus on the purpose, it will make India a better place for information and employment. Having all that said, we will hope that it would.
