Miracle man’s magic wand…

Everyone must remember the popular show ‘Shakalaka boom boom’ in which the protagonist gets a magical pencil which has the ability to bring the things drawn with it to life. Like others I too loved the show and wished if I had had a pencil like that! We all, at least at some point of our life wished to have a magical wand which could fulfill all our desires. Well, the fact is we have it! The magic wand we all possess is ‘visualization.’

Before I go further I’ll narrate a story. Morris Goodman, a leading life insurance salesman who had success, fame, name and a brand new airplane at the age of 35. On march 10, 1981 he crashed while trying to land his airplane. He was rushed to hospital. His spinal cord was crushed, the first and second cervical vertebrae were broken, his swallowing reflex was destroyed, he couldn’t eat or drink, his diaphragm was destroyed, he couldn’t breathe. Every major muscle in his body was destroyed and no longer able to perform bodily function. All he could do was blink his eyes. Everyone said that he wouldn’t survive. But for him it didn’t matter what others thought. He kept visualizing himself being normal person again.

He was hooked to a respirator and doctors said he would never breathe on his own. But a little voice within him kept saying, “Breathe deeply.. breathe deeply..” finally one day respirator was removed.

“The only thing I had to work with in the hospital was my mind, and once you have your mind, you can put things back together again.” Morris said. He had set his goal walk out of the hospital on Christmas and he did.

He said, “Man becomes what he thinks about.” Now he is a motivational speaker and he is called “The miracle man.”
Visualization is very powerful because we create pictures in our mind of having what we desire and when we are visualizing, we are emitting powerful frequencies out into the universe. It is said our subconscious mind accepts the thought that we often repeat. When it accepts them it changes our mindset accordingly as well as our habits and actions.
Athletes call visualization process, ‘Mental rehearsal.’ In a study some Olympic athletes were selected and asked to visualize as they are running in their track. They were hooked to sophisticated biofeedback equipment. Amazingly, the same muscle fired in the same sequence as it happens when runner actually runs.

Jack canfield the author of book, “chicken soup for the soul” says visualizing our goals and dreams accomplishes four important things. First it activates our subconscious which generates creative ideas to achieve our goals. Secondly it programs our brain to readily perceive resources we need to achieve our goal. Thirdly it activates the law of attraction which attracts people, resources and circumstances to accomplish our dreams and fourthly it enhances our motivation.

Genevieve Behrend said, “We all possess more power and greater possibilities than we realize, and visualizing is one of the greatest of these powers.” This is why I called it a magic wand. Morris, the miracle man survived using this magic wand. Yeah I agree, it may not give results instantly but it would definitely give results.
