Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Vice- President, Indian National Congress

Ms Lalitha Kumara mangalam, Chairman, National Women’s Commission

Mr Pranab Mukherjee, Honorable President of India

Mr Narendra Modi , Honorable Prime Minister of India

Dear Sirs and Dear Madams

Ms Anupama Shenoy, the DySP of Sindgi in Bijapur, Karnataka, has been transferred twice in a matter of two days.

The punishment transfer was given to the female officer by the Labour Minister of Karnataka, PT Parameshwara Naik with the support of the Home Minister G Parameshwar.

Read: Shocking! Karnataka Minister gets Police Official transferred for putting his call on hold

Her mistake: – She had a call from an unknown number and she kept it on hold as she was speaking to her senior officer. The call from the unknown number happened to be from the Hon.Labour Minister of Karnataka, Mr PT Parameshwar Naik. The minister rang up Ms.Anupama again and threatened her of the consequences of her action.

Hon. Labour Minister Mr Parameshwar Naik, with the help of the Hon. Home Minister of Karnataka, took no time to transfer Ms. Anupama Shenoy to Koodligi first and the very next day to Sindgi in Bijapur.

She was not due for transfer. The act of the Labour Minister was nothing but sheer vengeance and harassment against the efficient and sincere female Police Officer Ms.Anupama Shenoy.

Ms Anupama Shenoy hailing from a rural middle-class family, had an innate desire to serve the nation as a Police officer. Her passion for the profession made her an able, efficient and sincere officer. The meritorious student Ms.Anupama had the dream of a healthy society and corruption free India.

It is quite unfortunate that the sheer ego of the male Minister is playing havoc on the professional and personal life of the proactive police officer Ms.Anupama Shenoy.

Ms.Sonia Gandhi and Mr Rahul Gandhi, I would like to ask you with due respect and humility, is this the way to support Women empowerment? Do you think the Female professionals are safe in Karnataka?

I earnestly request you to look into the matter immediately and take due action against the ministers of government of Karnataka, led by Mr.Siddaramayya, for harassing the Woman Police officer and creating fear among the female tribe.

My humble request to Ms.Lalitha Kumara Mangalam, the Chairman, National women’s commission, to understand the seriousness of the issue and act accordingly and to reassure a safe and fearless work environment for women.

I urge the Honourable Government of India, headed by the Honourable President Pranab Mukherjee and Honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi to realize the tough time caused to the efficient and sincere Female Police Officer and act at the earliest.

Thank you.

Yours truly

Lalitha S Bhat, Puttur, DK,
