Mahadeva says that Rama is actually the innermost soul of all. Rama is the combination of myself (Shiva) and you (Devi) and THE COMBINED POWER TO ATTRACT LIFE ITSELF. Once it happened that the earth was overwhelmed by the load of evil unleashed by the Rakshasas headed by their king Ravana. There is a secret here too; when humans become greedy and too self-absorbed in their own indulgence they become Rakshasas. These types of people truth be told, are actually Rakshasas. They invariable exploit earth and bring it to the point of destruction. The Rakshasas bleed mother earth to the point of no return. They cut forests, mine minerals, divert rivers, pollute the air, poison the soil, disrupt glaciers, kill the seas by over fishing; basically, work against the natural order of the existence itself.
As you know Devi, the balance of nature is extremely delicate and once the threshold of destruction is reached there is no going back. In Sanskrit the flow of universal direction is called Rtà, the Chinese call it the Tao, the Greeks call it Logos; every species, every ethnicity has been innately given fundamental knowledge of the functioning of the universal flow and every sentient innately partakes in the upkeep of the Rtà.
