Content going viral is social media is not new. From musicians who became famous overnight to actors who shot to fame in quick time, videos and images have gone viral a lot of times on the internet. But how often do you find a comment going viral?
Well, the editor of a Kannada news portal- VarthaBharathi decided to troll the right wingers with a one-liner phrase directed towards a Seer. However, he had probably not expected a rebuttal from one of the witty right-wingers. A reply to the comment made by a Facebook user, Shashikiran Anekar has taken social media by the storm with a lot of people liking and commenting on it. The reply has almost garnered nearly 2000 likes on Facebook and is still growing in likes as you read this.
The aforementioned editor tried to pick on right-wingers who had opposed the Chief Minister of the state visiting the Dharmastala shrine after consuming fish. It is believed that visiting the temple after consuming non-vegetarian food is a sin.
However, the editor decided to make fun of it by using a pun which meant “The seer now can’t get bail because the bail has fish in it” ( Bail in Kannada translates to “Jaameenu” and fish translates to “Meenu”.) However, the comeback by Shashikiran was “sometimes you need to do that. Like you don’t like pigs but use Mehandi in your marriage functions. ( The editor referred to here is a follower of Islam. In Islam, it is haram to consume pigs. Pig translates to “Handi” in Kannada).
The social media has gone bonkers over this comment and everyone is sharing this light moment all around on Facebook.
