Freedom of expression is a two-edged sword. Especially on the Internet, it can make you a joke in no time if you just rant something without enough evidence to back your claim. Speaking senseless in search of instant popularity can result in instant Karma every now and then. This has been the case with many Twitter celebrities in the recent times. Comedian Vir Das is the new addition to the list.
So here is what happened. Vir Das tweeted stating his displeasure in the central Modi led NDA government and he went on to accuse the government of not utilising the taxpayer’s money in a proper manner. He accused that every infrastructure to facility in the country has hit a low in this government and wanted people to question Modi.
But Twitter users as always made his life difficult with a series of tweets. One particular user @OnlyNakedTruth decided to give a befitting point to point rebuttal to Vir Das in a series of tweets that followed.
The tweets were on to the point nailing the final nails on the coffin of allegations made by Virdas. The comedian who often calls himself a sport, and who often bash people for not being sportive when they make not so funny jokes weren’t all sportive in his reply.
He gave a sarcastic reply thanking the user for working hard to validate the claims of a comedian.
Twitter just witnessed yet another hit run and cry sequence in this incident. We have a two questions to Vir Das.
1. You accused Modi. And it was a serious tweet with no intended pun. So it takes out the point of you being a comedian in this discussion. So you are answerable to accusations made and the answers that you received. Why run away from answering them?
2. Before you accuse others of not being a sport on your shows, why don’t you become a sport and answer to all questions and answers that you have received?
