Hashim Amla, a victim of Muslim Stereotyping?

What is the perfect combination of ingredients that make a sensational news? Ask the media. If there is something that you can cook up with a celebrity name, that is definitely some news. That too if the celebrity is a cricketer, that is something which will guarantee some spectators. And then if the cricketer is a proteas star, that news is something which everyone would look at, if that protea star is a Muslim, wow guarantee another million anti-Muslim views, and if it involves some girl, that is good enough to call him “sexist” and create a negative media aura against him.

Well, this incident reportedly happened in the South Africas recent tour to India. The touring captain being a strict believer of Islam was under the scanner for allegedly refusing to be interviewed by a woman who was not appropriately dressed. It was reported that he had also mentioned that. If she needed his interview she had to dress appropriately. The interviewer is then said to have changed her attire and Amla was then interviewed. This report has been published in various media platforms without even verifying.

But now Amla has taken to twitter to give a befitting reply. The gentleman cricketer plainly denied the allegations, and also pointed on to the fact that “95% of stuff on internet is fake”. We can recollect the fact that the tour of India didn’t go well for Amla, as the team led by him lost3-0 against India. Well, now it’s for us to decide which part of internet stuff to read.

He tweeted clearing the air of controversy. If you want the 5% of genuine news, please visit our website Readoo.in.
