“Soch Badlo… Desh Badlega… Akele Modi ji kya Karega”

The statement – “Soch Badlo… Desh Badlega… Akele Modi ji kya Karega” is mostly used in satire jokes and SMS forwards. But today, I feel that statement makes sense on a serious note after seeing the behavior of some fanatic ‘Bhakts’.

In today’s India, I contribute to #IamABhakt than to #IamAnti-National. I have always been a fan of Narendra Bhai Modi and always appreciated his work and dedication towards the country. So, brand me as a Bhakt. But I am not one of those ‘Bhakt’ who spreads lies just to be a “Nationalist”. A lie is like that one puff of cigarette that will make you addicted for life. It gives temporary pleasure but kills you slowly. Same would be the case when you spread lies. People might hit the “Like button” of your page for the lie you spread. But the day they realize everything you spread is a lie, they lose hope on our PM, our Govt. and not just on you.  For a common man, ‘Bhakts’ are the medium to know our PM and government’s work. So, the more lies spread, the more disappointment on government.

I am fed up of correcting people who send me forward message on Feb 14th saying that “It’s the death day of 3 great Indians –Bhagath Sigh, Rajguru and Sukhdev and hence do not celebrate Valentines day, do not follow western culture”. I have received such messages as text messages couple of years back and even today I get it in the month of February in Watsapp. Technology has changed; mode of messaging has changed; but not the message. Which, simply means – the mentality of people has not changed! Those great Indians were hanged on March 23 and those Idiots who started that message chain killed them a month back on Feb 14th in their message. Unfortunate is people spread it so much that it might seem to be true. There is a famous saying –“Tell a lie 1000 times, it becomes a truth”.

The reason for the article is the recent lie spread on JNU issue where messages are spread as – “Ratan Tata has said that no more Tata groups will recruit from Jawaharlal University” The message went so viral in Facebook and Watsapp that it has reached millions. People have shared the message even without thinking if it is true. I wonder what kind of a brain is it which said “Tata ji, this is patriotism. Give me your torn old chappal. I will hit all those anti nationals in that”. I would say, if Tata ji really finds the person, he would first slap him in the same ‘chappal’ and ask to correct his thoughts.

When you say “JNU does not represent entire India”, so is “Kanhaiya and Omar Khalid do not represent entire JNU”. They are just a small part of the university. There are bad people everywhere for that you cannot ask to ban JNU. Jail the culprits, punish them but why ban JNU? Think of a million people who have graduated from that University? What would their condition be? Moreover, there will be thousands of ‘Nationalist’ students in the university who might tomorrow even join army and serve the country in true sense than all those who spread lies today.

Your troll might win likes but will be costly for the country. Think before speaking anything. If you truly want to support India and development, Ignore so called Intellectuals and their tweets. Believe me, un-following them and ignoring them will make a great difference to the country.

Finally one word – “Soch Badlo… Desh Badlega”
