“We are completely secure until we are targeted” this stands true. Now its Teamviewer time to be targeted hence there is a lot of discussion on social media about “TeamViewer Hack”. The news is confirmed and the blame is being put on poor passwords. It’s time to change passwords and take a step to control the harm.

What can happen?

A hacker can access your computer; use your saved credentials of mail, bank accounts, and confidential files. Just imagine what can happen? Hacker may start shopping with your accounts, may send emails to your contacts as to deposit amount to their account, Access your confidential files and share on the internet. There are no limits to harm once you are being hacked.

Are you a Victim?

If you are user of Team Viewer then you may be a victim but even you may not. It is better we test and verify it. There is a simple way you can test yourself. Teamviewer saves all logging account details in a file, if we access this file and check for the strange IP address in the file then we can verify it. If there is a presence of strange IP address, anonymous access details then you may be a victim.

The file can be accessed using Open Log files in the toolkit symbol or in extras or using command “TeamViewer –ziplog” (Linux),it may differ from OS and version of Team Viewer you are using. Connections_incoming.txt and Connections.txt are the two files you will find for identification of strange IP address.

If you are Victim?

  • You can log a complaint on Team viewer Tech Team by dialling 1-800-951-4573.
  • Go to Security -> Personal Password (Choose a strong password).
  • Use two-factor authentications.
