Moto X Force – meet the shatterproof phone!

They introduced the first fingerprint sensor in a smartphone with Atrix in 2011. They introduced Touchless control in a smartphone with the Moto X in 2013. They introduced customization of smartphones with MotoMaker. Motorola is one company which has done it all. They try and fail and then try again until they do it. Even after going through a tough phase of about 5 to 6 years, under different ownerships (Google and Lenovo), they still try to innovate. And their hard work pays off the loyal customers big time. This time, the innovation is in the display. Meet the Moto X Force, with a promise of the shatterproof display.

Now is their next step in innovation, a big one. They somehow managed to create a shatterproof display! which is a great news for most of the shaky, slippery and unstable hands out there! With the Moto X Force, Motorola introduces the shatterproof display technology to their flagship lineup. And they have a lot to say about it. Here’s the video from the company executives.

As we could see from the video, lot of thoughts have been put into the process and they are proud of it, well, they should be. After all, they managed to save a lot of money for the users.

Opinion: Motorola has been the first company to introduce many features to the smartphone industry. After a while, other companies copy and implement them in a better way (Like the iPhone’s fingerprint scanner!). However, we should appreciate Motorola for trying something new. The Shatterproof display is a very good beginning and we do expect other manufacturers to learn from Motorola this time. The feature will not be exclusive to only the Moto X Force, it will be available to all the Moto flagships by next year as quoted by a Motorola executive.

Price and release date in India: The Moto X Force (Droid Turbo 2) was announced in the US for 624$ for the 32GB model. It will be available in November. We expect the phone to be released in India in a couple of months and the price will be approximately Rs. 42,000/-. If your budget is below 30,000 Rs. /-  then you can consider the other two smartphones from Motorola, Moto X Style, Moto X Play and the budget phone Moto G 2015.

Update: The Moto X Force has now officially released in India for Rs. 50,000/-, which we think is way too much, considering the 624$ price in the US. It’s almost 10,000 Rs. /- more than it should have been. But, it is not something new, though. We’ve seen the phones being overpriced in the past too.
