West Indies power batsman Chris Gayle came under heavy criticism for his on-air comment to television reporter Mel McLaughlin. The Jamaican Batsman is playing for Melbourne Renegades in the current Big Bash League. He scored 41 from 15 deliveries in the Melbourne Renegades win over the Hobart Hurricanes in the BBL on Monday,
In an interview in between the match with the TV Presenter, the explosive left-hander suggested to television reporter Mel McLaughlin that the pair go out for a drink. He added, “Don’t blush Baby,” during an awkward pause in the interview.
His comment immediately drew criticism from the Commentators and also by Anthony Everard, the head of the BBL described it as “disrespectful and simply inappropriate.”
