The situation escalated when demonstrator from either country inched close to Chaman gate with Afghans attacking the Chaman friendship gate. Despite armed forces being deployed at the border, Pakistan forces looked helpless as Afghans in Large number stormed Chaman gate to snatch the Indian flag from the protesters in Pakistan side to rescue them. Afghans shouted Pro-Indian and Afghan friendship slogans and burnt 100s of Pakistan flags at the Friendship gate. Afghan protesters are reported to have lodged rockets at the Pakistan border.
