Sita explains the true nature of Rama to Hanuman thus:
Make no mistake, Rama is the supreme Brahman, the Supreme Transcendent. He is the truth – consciousness – bliss triad, he is the absolute, the one without a second. Rama is the pure existence devoid of all adjuncts, he can not be perceived by the senses as their object.
Know Rama as without any impurities, as peace, as the changeless, free from ignorance he is the all-pervading omniscient spirit. He is the only reality, all else is transient and ever changing.
Sita continues: Know me as the primordial Shakti, the supreme creative energy, immanent in creation. The material and instrumental cause of not just in creation, but also in sustainable and dissolution of the both the microcosm as well as the macrocosm.
I represent the object in the dual relationship of the evolution of the universe. Know me to be the cause that generates all vibratory motions and changes that occur in the manifest universe. I am the dynamic power that brings into being all the names and forms that are there in the universe and also the power that withdraws the entire creation in the process of the cosmic drama with Rama; the eternal being, at the end of the cycle of time.
In reality, it is I, Sita; who creates drawing from the consciousness of Rama. Descending from the plane of pure consciousness, I unfold the universe upon my own screen by the power of my will and becomes the mind by contracting in accordance with the object perceived. The ignorant superimpose their perception on him.
She elucidates about this common ignorance about Rama:
Rama was born in Ayodhya in the pure line of Raghus.
He helped Rishi Viswamithra to perform fire rituals and destroyed the obstructing demons.
Rama broke the curse of Ahalya.
He broke the great bow of Shiva and solemnised his marriage with me.
He humbled the pride of ParushuRama.
Rama lived a happily married life with me in Ayodhya for twelve years.
Then took his exile in Dandakaranya for fourteen years.
Rama destroyed Virada and thousands of demons living in the forest.
This prompted Maricha and Ravana to abduct me, He killed Maricha as the golden deer.
Rama also gave salvation to the vulture Jatayu and the cursed Kabanda.
Accepted the worship of Sabari.
He entered into a treaty with Sugreva and destroyed Vaali.
He searched for his beloved wife for years on end.
He built a bridge of rocks over the ocean.
He sieged Lanka and destroyed Ravana with all his progeny.
Rama gifted Lanka to Vibhishana.
He flew the Pushpaka Vimana and stopped the self-immolation of his brotherBharata
and finally
Rama was crowned King of Ayodhya.
All these activities, accomplishments and achievements that are attributed to Rama are actually superimpositions of Prakruti (ME) on him. Rama who is changeless himself is the soul of all beings (ATMA-RAMA). He walks not, he sits not, he sorrows not, he desires not, he abandons not. There is no activity in him, not even a trace. He is the pure bliss being, there is no movement, no transformation. There is nothing to be transformed for he is the substratum of all, including me Sita or who you know as Prakruti or Shakti.
Those who can not distinguish between the substratum and the changeful constituents of Maya perceive Rama as the transformed. Whereas the fact is that, only the objects that are being perceived (that is in Maya) that are undergoing a transformation.
