An article on October 5th written by a Johnson T A on Indian express names Sanathan Sanstha and its 5 members as the key suspects in the Gauri Lankesh murder case. This news was later perpetuated amongst all the leading media houses without cross verifying with any investigating agencies. The Wire, The Hindu, Newslaundry, FirstPost and Deccan Chronicle were a few of the mainstream media houses which blindly published this news on their websites.
That info (Sanathan Sanstha) is only in the media, from our side there is no info of any org till now: BK Singh,Police SIT #GauriLankesh pic.twitter.com/G3TzvdN1Sn

A number of journalists and liberals also tried to link this with Saffron terrorism and called Sanathan Sanstha a Hindu Terrorist organization. All this happened without having any sorts of evidence or proof of involvement of Sanathan Sanstha or its members in this. A hashtag #SanathanOnRadar was also trending on Twitter with various journos and alt media houses to try and link this murder to Hindu groups.
However, what comes as a shocker for these news portals who propagated fake news about the Gauri Lankesh murder is that BK Singh, the investigating officer of the Special Investigation Team investigating the murder of Gauri Lankesh, has clearly mentioned in a press conference today that the alleged involvement of Sanatan Sanstha in the Gauri Lankesh’s murder is a complete Media driven story. There is no such information available with the SIT as of now.
Now that this information has come to light, The Sanathan Sanstha has decided to take serious legal action against all the media houses for their baseless accusation on the organization and linking it with the murder of Gauri Lankesh without any solid evidence. The biggest question that arises here now is, who actually killed Gauri? Was the murder a means to coin the term “Hindu Terror” or “Hindutwa murders voices”? All these issues also raise a question on vested interests playing their cards to influence upcoming Karnataka elections as well.
