A student of Delhi Technology University on Monday has set a new record at his institute on Friday after grabbing an offer of Rs 1.27 crore annual salary package by the search engine giant Google. Chetan Kakkar, an alumni of Springdales, Pusa Road, reportedly said that “DTU campus had made a great difference to his prospects” reported The Times of India.
The DTU is famously known for its speciality in Information Technology and Computer Science department and the university holds a high cut off percentage every year.
Kakkar, a final year student at the DTU’s information technology department will be joining Google after completing his studies in 2016. He has been offered a compensation of Rs 1,25,74,200 ($1,90,000) per annum which is one of the highest salary offered to the DTU so far. Prior to Kakkar Rs, 93 lakh was offered to a student in 2014.
Kakkar reportedly said, “This was what I had been striving so far and I am excited to join Google”.
Kakkar’s parents are lecturers at the Delhi University. Rita Kakkar is in the chemistry department and Subhash Kakkar is a faculty at the management department. Working in Google is altogether a different experience. According to recent survey Indian techie first and final goal is to work with the search engine giant.
