Samsung India released their latest smartwatch, the Gear S2 and Gear S2 Classic in India for Rs. 24,300/- and Rs. 25,800 /- respectively. The Tizen OS based smartwatch launched in the USA about 5 months ago, was well received for the design of its intuitive rotating bezel.

Opinion: Samsung has done a lot of hard work in 2015 for getting their design and software right. The Gear S2 was a good result of that hard work. The Gear S2 has a rotating bezel for navigating through the Tizen OS, which is very playful and intuitive. The watch is also well designed. It also comes with Bluetooth and NFC and it will support Samsung Pay (If only it’s released in India!).
The watch is running on the company owned Tizen OS, which has been around for a couple of years and Samsung is looking to improve the OS with every iteration of their new products. The 250 MAh battery should easily see through a day without much charging. The Gear S2 also comes with wireless charging dock out of the box.
If you are looking for a very good smartwatch that is well designed and playful, you can definitely consider the Gear S2 and the Gear S2 Classic. But we feel, 24,300 Rs. /- is too much for a smartwatch at this point of time, where smartwatches are still pretty new in the country and you can grab a pretty good smartphone for less than 20K!
If you are a little low on budget and looking for other options, we suggest you have a look at the 2nd Gen. Moto 360, which is one of the best looking Android wears available in India, it also well priced at 19,999 Rs. /-.
