Freedom of expression is a two-edged sword. Especially on the Internet, it can make you a joke in no time if you just rant something without enough evidence to back your claim. Speaking senseless in search of instant popularity can result in instant Karma every now and then. This has been the case with many Twitter celebrities in the recent times. Comedian Vir Das is the new addition to the list.
So here is what happened. Vir Das tweeted stating his displeasure in the central Modi led NDA government and he went on to accuse the government of not utilising the taxpayer’s money in a proper manner. He accused that every infrastructure to facility in the country has hit a low in this government and wanted people to question Modi.
Stations, roads, bridges, sanitation, safety, petrol prices….in disarray…where's your money going? Abki baar, question your sarkar.

But Twitter users as always made his life difficult with a series of tweets. One particular user @OnlyNakedTruth decided to give a befitting point to point rebuttal to Vir Das in a series of tweets that followed.
Good point. Now let me give @thevirdas a point by point rebuttal. https://t.co/lsaQiTmC8k

So @thevirdas let's start with roads. The pace of construction of both highways as well as village roads under PMGSY is blistering under NDA pic.twitter.com/X2qz66Kn57

And while Modi government is constructing record number of rural roads under PMGSY, @thevirdas is breaking records in ignorance. pic.twitter.com/qFD9FpWiIq

The UPA slept over the construction of a strategic bridge that connected Assam and Arunachal. It was completed and inaugurated by Modi pic.twitter.com/j0j6VcZ2wn

Now let's talk about sanitation. The number of Open Defecation free villages has increased by a staggering number under Modi's swachh bharat pic.twitter.com/MStdoFD08O

The number of toilets constructed under Swachh Bharat in just last 3 years is several times higher than UPA in 10 years. pic.twitter.com/lQK2RHeFUP

Now let's talk about stations. Railway stations are not only cleaner now, they are being modernized under PPP. pic.twitter.com/zUrOJI6wWo

The railway stations have free Wi-Fi now so that aam janta can see @thevirdas making his witless jokes about subjects that he doesn't get pic.twitter.com/LyGIGDOMgm

While @thevirdas might have lost his black money during demonetization, it has actually made our country more secure. Bullet point: safety pic.twitter.com/DmkIjvar4T

The number of Pak sponsored terrorists killer in kashmir are also at an all time high. So understandably @thevirdas is miffed. pic.twitter.com/iZ0JIo5w2L

As Teresa May once told Corbyn "you can only lead a protest, I lead a nation". Sums up Modi Vs jokers like @thevirdas . End.

The tweets were on to the point nailing the final nails on the coffin of allegations made by Virdas. The comedian who often calls himself a sport, and who often bash people for not being sportive when they make not so funny jokes weren’t all sportive in his reply.
He gave a sarcastic reply thanking the user for working hard to validate the claims of a comedian.
Thank you for the research! This is where someone points out to you that you work very very hard for validation from a comedian 🙂 Cheers!

Took me just 30 min to gather data. Only if you had googled. You try too hard for cheap RTs . Stick to comedy. https://t.co/14Cbfi738m

Twitter just witnessed yet another hit run and cry sequence in this incident. We have a two questions to Vir Das.
1. You accused Modi. And it was a serious tweet with no intended pun. So it takes out the point of you being a comedian in this discussion. So you are answerable to accusations made and the answers that you received. Why run away from answering them?
2. Before you accuse others of not being a sport on your shows, why don’t you become a sport and answer to all questions and answers that you have received?
